Last Sunday 16 February we held Emprius’s [**third annual gathering**](https://emprius.cat/en/trobada-2025/) of the community and interested people. In 2025 we gathered at [**Calafou**](https://coop57.coop/ca/entidad/calafou), in Vallbona d’Anoia. Around fifty of us came together – members, non-members, some from the advisory council…

In the morning we presented the **2024 Review**, explaining the highlights of the past year and reviewing whether we had achieved our targets. We also presented the **2025 Action Plan**, with the approved objectives and projects to move forward this year.

We then enjoyed a pre-lunch drink with a **concert by** [**Paula Grande**](https://www.instagram.com/paulagrandemusic/), an artist from the community project [Cal Tribu](https://www.instagram.com/caltribu/), accompanied by two musicians, followed by a **delicious paella** for lunch, prepared at Calafou.

After lunch we took a **guided tour** of some spaces at Calafou, with a project explanation covering the history of this **former industrial colony, collectivised** through a collective co-operative purchase, from its origins to its current state.

In the afternoon we split into **two groups** to discuss two topics, in a space for exchange and collective reflection.

One group discussed **shared tools in the rural world**, presenting ideas we’ve been developing at Emprius. A colleague from [**La Rural de Collserola**](https://web.archive.org/web/20250121012806/https://www.laruraldecollserola.com/node/4) also described the shared tool bank they’ve been running for a few years. We highlighted initiatives we had previously been in touch with, even though they couldn’t attend: the [Shared Machinery Bank of the ADV Ecològica de Ponent](https://bioponent.org/project/banc-de-maquinaria-compartida/), the [Bages Farm Tools Bank](https://www.instagram.com/p/DEwv9n0o7U0/) and the project of networked local people in the [Vall del Corb](https://www.valldelcorb.cat/)… People from other resource-sharing projects also made valuable contributions, including those involved with [**Som Mobilitat**](https://sommobilitat.coop/particulars/).

The other group discussed **strategies for struggle and resistance in the rural environment**. There was a dialogue between people actively involved in [**Revolta Pagesa**](https://www.gremipagesia.cat/) – a movement from last year’s mobilisations, now constituted as a farmers’ guild – and those from [**Revoltes de la Terra**](https://www.revoltesdelaterra.cat/) – a newly formed initiative bringing together dozens of land-defence and environmental collectives. We explored the potential, difficulties and challenges of organising struggle from the countryside with a perspective of those who live and work the land. Despite organisational differences between the two groups, they agreed on the importance of shifting focus away from urban areas to better know the territory and recognise farmers as its guardians. We also asked which strategic directions should guide us in coming years and what role Emprius should play. Among the challenges discussed, the tension between ecological concerns and farming demands – which sometimes makes us lose sight of the systemic problems we all face – stood out. The discussion underscored the importance of each struggle recognising the value of others’ work and being able to take joint action when possible.

All parts of the day had **very active participation** from those who came, and there was a wonderful atmosphere.

Some attendees expressed interest in joining various Emprius working groups. It was a day of meeting people we value, seeing all these perspectives brought together, a day to recharge our batteries and keep moving forward!
