# “Fem cumó, un altre camí” in Mallorca

This **February**, the good people from [**Usnea RP**](https://www.instagram.com/usnea_rp/) will be in **Mallorca**, showing [***“Fem cumó, un altre camí”***](https://emprius.cat/en/fem-cumo/) (“Doing cumó: another way”), the documentary made with support from the [Emprius Prize 2024](https://emprius.cat/en/premi/).

Three screenings have been organised:

- **Thursday** **19** in **Sineu**, at 7pm at the Municipal Library.
- **Friday 20** in **Palma**, at 7pm at [L’Elèctrica Ateneu Popular](https://www.instagram.com/electricateneupopular/).
- **Saturday 21** in **Manacor**, at 6pm at the Institució Pública Antoni M. Alcover.

Since the premiere in Tremp in November, there have been more than a dozen screenings of the film: in the Lluçanès, the Baix Camp, the Terra Alta, the Baixa Ribagorça, Huesca, Barcelona, the Anoia, the Bages, the Alt Urgell… If you want to organise a screening in your area, get in touch with Usnea or Emprius: *usnea.rp(a)gmail.com* / *comunicacio(a)emprius.cat*.

***Synopsis:***

In a corner of the **Pre-Pyrenees**, the village of **Sapeira** and the **Terreta valley** hold the traces of a **communal past** of great value. *“Fem cumó, un altre camí”* follows the **participatory process** driven by the collective [Usnea RP](https://www.instagram.com/usnea_rp/), together with the **people of the village**, to recover this **living memory**: interviews, cumó work days and **communal work** sessions and workshops become spaces of dialogue where **stories from grandparents** meet **new collective imaginaries**. Another way also means doing it again: walking together once more, doing cumó as before but with fresh eyes. The film immerses us in the **beauty** and **fragility** of a **rural world** that was **dismantled socially and culturally** years ago, while opening up **questions** about the **future** of **the commons** and the potential of **grassroots structures** as an act of justice and social transformation. Communal lands have been the foundation of collective life for over a millennium. Today we are living through an unprecedented time, in which this way of being in the world has been relegated; perhaps it is a symptom of crisis, but also the starting point for a new beginning.
