On 3 May at 11am we’re taking part in the third session of a training cycle on the commons run by Comunalitats Urbanes, on this occasion focusing on self-management. We’ll be sharing the space with Adrián Almazán, co-editor of the essay [Nuevos comunalismos](https://web.archive.org/web/20230527195805/https://www.nedediciones.com/ficha.aspx?cod=2084), and with experiences from communes in Venezuela, led by Cira Pascual Marquina.

Throughout their long history, processes of reorganisation through the commons have served to test new forms of organisation from the margins of the state, often through trial and error. But is it possible to create alternative models of production that are completely independent of the state?

Drawing on the thesis of the book *Nuevos Comunalismos*, we’ll reflect on how we can (self-)organise to be able to address this eco-social crisis and reverse current trends, while at the same time not giving up on transforming the current capitalist system and moving towards another, more sovereign and ecofeminist society.
