Happy Sant Jordi! Here are some book suggestions:

[**El comú català. La història dels que no surten a la història**](https://reconstruirelcomunal.suportmutu.org/el-comu-catala/) (“The Catalan commons: a history of those left out of history”) - **David Algarra Bascón**
“The commons is far more than the sum of a place’s neighbours; it is also the close solidarity that springs from the relationships and countless bonds created by a collective that, outside other powers, largely decided its own future. If history does not speak much of it, that is because the victors write history – that is, because the commons lost. Yet this commons is largely responsible for the culture and language we have inherited, and it is only right that it form part of our historical and cultural heritage, an expression of a people’s identity.”

[**Colectivismo agrario en España**](https://www.marcialpons.es/libros/colectivismo-agrario-en-espana/9788485303823/) - **Joaquín Costa**
A very important study published in 1898 that documents collective structures, forms of organisation and popular customs across different rural areas of the Iberian Peninsula. A classic on the subject.

“Through various chapters, and in a format inspired by the manifesto, Dunyó prompts the reader to rethink how we relate to time, the land and what we produce from it. (…) In evocative, poetic language, yet with a provocative and unapologetic style, he makes us rethink our priorities to counter the discourses of the logic of capitalism.”

[**Ruralisme.
“Ruralism is today the most intelligent option for survival and adaptation to the collapse we are heading towards as a society. This book, emotional and vital, encouraging and vibrant, kindles the flame of essential debates to awaken consciousness and move us to action.”

[**Vaques. Història d’una veterinària rural**](https://lafinestralectora.cat/vaques/) - **Imma Puigcorbé Sabata**
“Being born among livestock may well have been the deciding factor in becoming both a farmer and a rural vet. (…) Feelings, passions, beauty and also pain as an intrinsic part of life are told from a realistic and natural perspective.”

[**L’economia social catalana als inicis del segle XX. Cooperació, solidaritat i valors**](https://www.pageseditors.cat/ca/l-economia-social-catalana-als-inicis-del-segle-xx.html) - **Ignasi Faura Ventosa**
“In the late 19th and early 20th centuries in Catalonia, a wide network of consumer co-operatives, farming unions, mutual aid societies, ateneus and all kinds of workers’ organisations was created to improve living conditions, working conditions, culture, education and health.”

“The author explores a transformative biopolitics through the care of soils, of the land and its many species (including people).”

[**Nuevos comunalismos.
“A degrowth that in these pages allies with communalism – that is, with reflections that have imagined institutions which, yesterday and today, have the potential to recover, build and organise the commons.”
