## Communalisms and degrowths

From [**Research & Degrowth**](https://degrowth.org/) and [**Fundació Emprius**](https://emprius.cat/en/) –with the collaboration of [Ecologistas en Acción](https://www.ecologistasenaccion.org/federaciones/catalunya/), [THECO](https://www.uc3m.es/grupos-investigacion/theco) and [Rebelión Científica](https://www.rebelioncientifica.es/)–, we organised the congress **“Sentit comunal. Communalisms and degrowths”**. It took place on Saturday 25 January 2025 at the [**Biblioteca Pilarín Bayés**](https://www.bibliotecapilarinbayes.cat/) in **Vic**.

A **space for meeting, exchange and reflection** among people from across the Spanish state who defend **communalism** and **degrowth** as desirable and necessary paths of social transformation — paths that can point towards solving many of the serious problems and ills we suffer and face.

Four thematic blocks over the day: *“Communalisms and degrowths”*, *“Communalisms in history”*, *“Subsistence and autonomy: an alternative to extractivism”* and *“Communalisms in action: challenges and opportunities”*. With speakers from different territories and room for the audience to take part.
