Events this autumn

This autumn at Emprius we’re taking part in several events:

On Saturday 28 September we’ll be at the gathering “The social and solidarity economy in territorial contexts: how do we do it?”, to be held in Vic (Osona), at La Reciclària. The event starts at 10.30am; there will be lunch for those who register beforehand.

On Saturday 5 October we’re joining a presentation event for Ruralitats Comunitàries in Maldà (Vall del Corb, Urgell), at the town’s cultural centre. The event starts at 10am.

On Friday 11 October we’re taking part in a course on Co-operative Organisation and the Professional World, in the session on “Land management, heritage and commons”, to be held at the estates of La Rural de Collserola.

On Monday 21 October, we’ll be joining the course “Communalist municipalism” organised by Seminari Taifa. In the session “Experiences, utopias and resistance in the search for new social relations”. The course is online.

On Saturday 26 October we’re taking part in the III International Congress of Communal Democracy, in the afternoon sessions, on farming, food and energy sovereignty. The Congress takes place on 25 and 26 October in Barcelona, at the Casinet d’Hostafrancs. You can register for the Congress here.

On Saturday 9 November we’re taking part in the 2nd Àgora Pallaresa, to be held in Vilamitjana (Pallars Jussà), at the village’s old schools. We’ll be part of the afternoon session “Towards individualisation: practices, infrastructure and bonds from the commons”. You’ll find the reading pack and the form to register for meals and other questions here.

On the same 9 November we’re taking part in a panel discussion in Manresa on “Communal management of natural resources”, as part of the second congress of community economies organised by the Comunalitat de Manresa. The panel will include someone from the Comunitat Minera Olesana and someone from the Comunidade de Montes de Couso. Edurne Bagué will moderate.

On Wednesday 11 December we’re taking part in a Specialisation Course in Social and Solidarity Economy from the University of Lleida, organised by Ponent Coopera. In a session where Adrián Almazán will also be present.

On Saturday 14 December we’re taking part in a gathering “Past, present and future of forest management in the Terreta”, in Sapeira (Pallars Jussà), organised by Usnea RP, the project that submitted the winning proposal for the Emprius Prize 2024.

We’d also like to highlight other interesting events, such as the 9th Gastronomic Day of Forgotten Plants by Eixarcolant in Igualada (28 September), the 14th Catalan Goat Day in Vilanova de Meià (5 October), the Aplec Iltiŕ in the Garrotxa (11, 12 and 13 October), the launch of the campaign for recovering communal memory “Recommunalise Ponent” (19 December)…

In Segovia, Iniciativa Comunales organised the seminar “Comunales revelados: haciendo visible la realidad invisibilizada de los comunales en España” (“Commons revealed: making visible the invisibilised reality of Spain’s commons”) (11 and 12 November).
