The housing struggle is also rural
Without affordable housing and land outside the market, there can be no agroecological transition
What drives us
The Foundation is guided by two great principles: communalism and ruralism.

How we do it
We receive donations and inheritances to acquire assets that we provide to community projects in rural areas. The projects that steward these properties follow Emprius values and have positive social and ecological impact in their territory.
We defend community and communal management as a fairer and more transformative approach to stewardship that allows us to move towards fairer degrowth. We support communities and conduct research and outreach on these communal principles.
We are building a catalogue of useful tools distributed across rural Catalan territory, for agriculture, ecological building and self-building, and making it available to collaborative projects.
Get involved
Many people are making Emprius possible; you can check out our community. Would you like to be part of it?
Would you like to participate in one of our working groups? Would you be up for doing outreach and bringing information about Emprius to your area? Are you an expert in an area of interest to Emprius and would like to be part of our advisory council? Do you have strong ties in your area and think you could help Emprius get a project off the ground as a territorial ambassador?
Do you want to strengthen the commons in Catalonia and have assets or economic resources you’d like to make available to the project? Would you like to become a member and help make Emprius possible with an annual contribution? Do you know people with resources who might be interested in being donors to a project like this?
Donations to Fundació Emprius are tax-deductible: 80% on the first €250 and 40% above that (45% from the third consecutive year).
The Foundation’s beneficiaries are the collectives that steward the assets, land and infrastructure and carry out the projects that give Emprius its meaning.
If you’re part of a collective that would like to present a stewardship project, send us your proposal!
