From Fundació Emprius and Research & Degrowth, we’re announcing a third edition of the Sentit Comunal congress, after the success and interest sparked by the two previous editions in Vic and Berga.
It will take place on Saturday 28 November 2026 in Olot (la Garrotxa), at the co-operative and community space Núria Social.
We have organised it in collaboration with the University of Girona, THECO, Ecologistas en Acción and Resilience Earth, and with financial support from the UdG and Girona Provincial Council.
It will once again be a space for meeting, exchange and reflection among people from different territories (the Catalan Countries, the Spanish state and beyond) who defend communalism and degrowth as desirable and necessary paths of social transformation — paths that can point in good directions for facing many of the serious problems and ills we suffer and have ahead of us.
We will keep talking about community organisation and management, using the elements earth, water, fire and air as a framework: they will structure the four thematic blocks over the day.
This time the congress programme also includes an activity on the following day, the morning of Sunday 29 November, when we will visit some emprius (communal lands) in la Garrotxa, very close to Olot.
