From Research & Degrowth and Fundació Emprius –with the collaboration of Ecologistas en Acción, THECO and Rebelión Científica–, we organised the congress “Sentit comunal. Communalisms and degrowths”. It took place on Saturday 25 January 2025 at the Biblioteca Pilarín Bayés in Vic.
A space for meeting, exchange and reflection among people from across the Spanish state who defend communalism and degrowth as desirable and necessary paths of social transformation — paths that can point towards solving many of the serious problems and ills we suffer and face.
Four thematic blocks over the day: “Communalisms and degrowths”, “Communalisms in history”, “Subsistence and autonomy: an alternative to extractivism” and “Communalisms in action: challenges and opportunities”. With speakers from different territories and room for the audience to take part.
