Mas Les Vinyes is an intentional community that settled in Sant Martí d’Albars, in the Lluçanès, in 2013, to share community life, child-raising and a farming and livestock project.
The community manages a large masia (Catalan farmhouse) that over the years has been rebuilt using ecological building criteria to accommodate up to 6 family units with private spaces, a group reception area and a communal kitchen, dining room, living room, pantry, library, tool room etc.
The group has fluctuated between a maximum of 14 and a minimum of 7 people, adults and children. As of the end of 2022, we live together as 4 adults and 3 young people permanently, with 3 European volunteers from the European Solidarity Corps. The group places great importance on care and spaces for sharing dreams, in addition to more productive activities, which is why we prioritise emotional gatherings and work on personal growth and group management. We commit to and work daily for an ecosocial transition that includes a decrease in consumption and cultural growth, food and energy sovereignty and regeneration of the land that hosts us. We organise through assemblies and working groups that lead different activities and care for the various goals we set ourselves to look after our holistic vision.

In 2018 we established ourselves as a worker co-operative that provides work for 4 people, combining farm management, consultancy for other projects and permaculture training courses we offer as a nature classroom.
The 25-hectare farm of fields and woodland is designed using permaculture and regenerative agriculture criteria. We produce, transform and sell vegetables, fruit, honey, lamb, chicken and eggs, as well as managing the forest, placing great importance on closing cycles, co-operation between elements and systems, and soil regeneration.
One of the community’s goals is to share all the learning we’re doing together, and for this reason we organise training, events and talks and maintain very active social networks with a YouTube channel with 23 thousand subscribers and videos with over 150 thousand views.
We are part of the Permacultura Íbera association and the North-east Bioregion working group, we are a founding organisation of the Ateneu Cooperatiu de la Catalunya Central, we collaborate with the Càtedra del Món Rural and we are members of Miceli Social, a second-tier co-operative.
