Second Sentit Comunal congress is another attendance…

More than three hundred people gathered in Berga last Saturday for the second edition of the Sentit Comunal congress that we at Fundació Emprius organised, in collaboration with Research & Degrowth, Ecologistas en Acción and Rebelión Científica.

It was a rainy day, forecast days in advance, so we were really pleased that so many people attended. It was wonderful to spend the day with so many people who see communalism, degrowth, the rural world and popular culture as important avenues for social transformation — speakers, workshop leaders and attendees alike. We believe the conclusions were very enriching and interesting, and we’re leaving with renewed energy to continue all the work that each of us is doing.

For those who couldn’t come or who want to watch something again, the congress videos are now available: the introduction, the different talks from the first three sessions, and the presentation of the fourth session, which consisted of four parallel workshops.

We want to thank everyone who made the congress possible, the speakers and workshop leaders for their willingness, many of whom travelled a long way to be there… And especially the Casal Panxo and the housing co-operative Cal Blanxart for cooking absolutely delicious paella for everyone, and the Ateneu Cooperatiu de la Catalunya Central and all the other local organisations that helped us.
