Growing the community

On 12 November the core group and Board of Trustees of Emprius met to review the last 2 and a half years of work and, now that we are at a more mature stage, think about how we can open up to the wider world. Emprius has always had the goal of being a participatory project that takes shape collectively — we build the Foundation the same way we defend our vision. We’ve also always been clear that we wouldn’t make a big mass call-out and would go slowly, respecting the pace of the work we’re doing and opening up spaces for participation as they become necessary.

But we believe the Foundation is now ready to open some of the participation spaces — specifically, we have 4 working groups that are open for people to join and contribute:

  • Communication: this is the group that thinks about the image we want Emprius to have in the world and designs our communications campaigns.
  • Outreach: its aim is to reach every part of the territory, through presentations, fairs and talks.
  • Shared Tools: it assesses and decides which shared tools the Foundation should acquire.
  • Funding: it is in charge of developing an economic plan that sets our course towards economic independence

If you’re someone who shares Emprius’s values (or you know someone like that) and you’d like to help make this dream grow, don’t hesitate to get in touch!
